Generational earnings – perspectives for the market of private dormitories in Poland

Rafał Kroczak, Analyst Director, Metropolitan Investment, was the guest of the debate entitled “Generational earnings”, organised by Eurobuild Conferences and the authorities of the city of Łódź. The event was held on 18 April 2018 during the 9th Hotel and Office Investment Conference.

The participants of the discussion included Wioleta Wojtczak, Head of Research, Savills, Jolanta Bubel, Operational Director, Student Depot, Urszula Aleksandrowicz, MRT Philosophy, and Stefan Kolibar, Head of Marketing, StudentMarketing LTD.

During the debate the panellists discussed the perspectives for the market of private dormitories in Poland. The participants answered inter alia the following questions:

What criteria should be met by a dormitory to be an investment product? What are the funding terms for such a type of investments, and, if talking about demand from students, is it worth being confined to the student halls or looking at this market more broadly in the context of budget hotels, hostels and micro-apartments?
